Paul Kuiken is the Vice President Global Business Development and Marketing. Paul develops strategy for service delivery with new and existing clients and and new marketing opportunities with the objective of establishing long term, mutually beneficial business relationships. He is a member of the Strategic Advisory Board.
In addition, Paul provides leadership for the UK team as General Manager, UK Operations.
Paul has over 24 years of experience within the Pharmaceutical industry in a variety of positions spanning manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory science. He has substantial experience in the consultancy service business sector having previously managed operations for the last 14 years in both Europe and the United States. He has a rare combination of experience in technical and commercial functions.
Paul has a sound track record of operational management in the service sector alongside P&L responsibility. He has managed teams in excess of 60 staff in a line management and project capacity.Whilst at Pharmalink Consulting Paul developed a new operational hub in the United States, and as Head of UK Operations he grew the workforce to 65 permanent staff across multiple locations. Paul has significant line management experience, and has managed global project teams in both regional hubs and in‑market locations.
Paul’s commercial experience ranges from supporting client proposals and bids from a technical standpoint to specific roles in business development. That is, understanding client business needs through consultancy, managing requests for proposals, and through contracting processes. Paul has managed client relationships in both technical and procurement functions to increase sales and also open revenue streams in new buying centres. Paul has developed client strategy and account plans, identifying value proposition and tactical objective delivery.
Paul has contributed to industry groups such as TOPRA (the Special Interest group for Biotechnology, and the Organizing Committee for the Biotech Module of the MSc Regulatory Affairs) and as an Editorial Board member of the Regulatory Rappoteur. He is also a member of the Drug Information Association and has spoken at the annual conference. Paul is a member of the Institute of Directors and has experience as a Companies House Director.
Paul has a bachelor of science degree in Process Biotechnology and has continued his development through specific subject courses at the Open University and through corporate management development programmes. He is based in Camberley, UK.
